PORTLAND – Jack Cutler scored 15 points to lead a balanced offense Tuesday as Waynflete earned a 77-45 victory against Traip Academy in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

Chris Burke added 12 points, and Max Belleau, Serge Nyirikamba and Paul Runyambo each had 10 for Waynflete (2-0).

Matt Clifford scored 18 points and Atencio Martin had 13 for Traip (1-1).

 

FALMOUTH 66, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 37: Matt Packard scored 16 points to help the Yachtsmen (2-0) beat the Raiders (0-2) at Fryeburg.

Jack Cooleen and Jack Simmons each added 10 points for Falmouth. Bright Amoako led Fryeburg with 13.

WINDHAM 68, NOBLE 39: Shawn Francoeur scored 10 points to pace Windham (1-1) over Noble (0-2) at North Berwick.

The Eagles had 12 players score.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 65, BIDDEFORD 53: The Red Riots (2-0) had four scorers in double digits and shot 10 of 14 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to put away the Tigers (0-2) at South Portland.

John Tolan led South Portland with 16 points. Ben Burkey and Jordan Muller each had 14, and Tanner Hyland chipped in 13. The Red Riots were 21 of 24 from the line overall.

Robert Cote put up 23 points for Biddeford.

 

WESTBROOK 44, SCARBOROUGH 38: Nguot Ngout scored eight of his 18 points during a 13-6 fourth-period run that lifted Westbrook (2-0) over the Red Storm (1-1) at Scarborough.

The Blue Blazes, trailing 32-31 after three, made it 36-36 on a shot from underneath, then stole the inbounds pass for the go-ahead basket.

Ben Wessel scored 14 points and Kevin Manning 11 for Scarborough.

PORTLAND 52, SANFORD 43: Peter Donato had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (1-0), who took a 13-8 first-quarter lead and held off Sanford (0-2) at Portland.

Mike Herrick and Justin Zukowski each chipped in 10 points for Portland. Ryan Camire scored 24 for Sanford.

 

BONNY EAGLE 70, MASSABESIC 31: C.J. Autry and Cole Libby had 15 points and eight rebounds apiece to lead the Scots (2-0) past the Mustangs (1-1) at Standish.

Dustin Cole added 12 points for Bonny Eagle, which led 39-14 at halftime.

Ryan Dodge had 11 points for Massabesic.

BOOTHBAY REGION 65, WISCASSET 49: Anthony DiMauro scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half as the Seahawks (1-1) took a 38-20 lead against Wiscasset (0-2) at Boothbay Harbor.

That cushion proved decisive: The Redskins outscored Boothbay 39-27 in the second half, when Travis Padilla scored all of his 17 points for Wiscasset.

Ben Dickinson added 16 points and Benjamin Woodin 13 for the Seahawks. Jordan Jones had 16 for Wiscasset.

 

YORK 56, GREELY 53: Aaron Todd scored a game-high 19 points as the Wildcats (2-0), trailing by 13 points in the third quarter, rallied past Greely (1-1) at York.

Michael McDevitt scored 16 points, Nick Clark 14 and Bailey Train 10 for the Rangers.

 

MORSE 68, OAK HILL 29: Ted Cole and Matt Munster scored 16 points each as the Shipbuilders (1-0) beat Oak Hill (0-2) at Bath.

Morse outscored Oak Hill 18-0 in the first period and steadily padded its lead.

Kevin McKellar scored 11 for Morse and Sam Morin 10 for Oak Hill.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 54, SACOPEE VALLEY 36: Brandon Thibeault had 18 points and Sam Johnson finished with 17 as the Patriots (1-1) beat the Hawks (0-2) at South Hiram.

Johnson scored 11 points, including seven free throws, in the third quarter as the Patriots opened a 42-31 lead.

Jeff Taylor had 23 points for the Hawks.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 53, KENNEBUNK 37: Quinn Richardson-Newton and Justin Pollard each scored five points during a 17-7 run in the second period as the Golden Trojans (1-1) opened a 28-13 lead against Kennebunk (0-2) at Saco.

Richardson-Newton finished with a team-high 11 points. Austin Sandler scored 12 for the Rams.

BUCKFIELD 42, RICHMOND 40: Austin Dooley, who finished with 18 points, made two free throws with eights second left as Buckfield (1-1) held off the Bobcats (0-2) at Richmond.

Richmond trailed 35-21 after three quarters, but scored 19 points in the fourth and made it 40-40 after Ben Carver stole the ball and scored on a layup with 30 seconds left.

Kade Strout topped the Bobcats with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

 

POLAND 64, WELLS 53: Jacob Littlefield scored 18 points as the Knights (2-0) stopped the Warriors (0-2) at Wells.

Logan Nichols added 15 points and Ricky Bryant had 11 for Poland.

Dylan Stevens had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Zach Deshaies added 12 points for Wells.

 

YARMOUTH 85, LAKE REGION 40: Josh Britten scored 32 points in three quarters to lead the Clippers (2-0) over the Lakers (0-2) at Yarmouth.

Adam Wriggins added 12 points and Sam Torres 10 for Yarmouth, which led 23-8 after one quarter.

Alexander Hartford had 10 points for Lake Region.

CHEVERUS 11, MASSABESIC-OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Tom Sullivan and Liam Fitzpatrick had two goals and an assist each as the Stags (1-0) handled the Mustangs (1-1) at Portland.

Sterling Weatherbie and Harry Ridge had a goal and two assists, and Cam McLain, Mark Snyder and Nick Schleh finished with a goal and an assist for Cheverus.

A.J. Gass had a goal and an assist, and Nicole Madruga also scored for the Mustangs.

 

BIDDEFORD 7, PORTLAND 0: Steven Comar had two goals and an assist to lead Biddeford (1-1) over the Bulldogs (0-2) at Portland.

Taylor Reuillard added a goal and three assists. Jon Fields made 12 saves for the shutout. John Gatti turned away 32 shots for Portland.

 

MARSHWOOD-TRAIP ACADEMY 6, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Corey Wright had two goals and an assist, and Ryan Tobey added two goals as the Hawks (2-0) beat South Portland (0-2) at Dover, N.H.

Peter Lajeunesse and Drew Hale added a goal and two assists each.

 

GORHAM 5, KENNEBUNK 1: Justin Broy made 41 saves and five players scored, lifting Gorham (1-1) over visiting Kennebunk (1-1).

Gorham opened a 2-0 lead on first-period goals by Spence Cowand and Nate Goodrich. Drew Hawkins made it 3-0 in the second and Eliot Gage made it 4-0 three minutes into the third before Jack Kennedy beat Broy with an unassisted goal at 4:18. Shawn Sullivan’s short-handed goal completed the scoring.
