WELLS – Morgan Cahill scored all 11 points during a pivotal second quarter and finished with 30 points as Yarmouth beat Wells 42-39 in a Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball game Thursday night.

The Clippers (1-2) trailed 13-12 after one quarter, but Cahill’s big second quarter put Yarmouth up 23-13 at halftime.

Allison Furness scored 14 points for Wells (2-1), which cut the deficit to 40-39 with nine seconds to play. Mariyah Heath added 11 points.

GREELY 37, FALMOUTH 30: Ashley Storey scored 18 points for Greely (2-1), which used a 10-4 third-quarter run to take the lead for good at Falmouth (2-1).

Jaclyn Storey added nine points for the Rangers.

YORK 53, POLAND 23: Ruby Cribby scored 16 points, and Emily Campbell had seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead the Wildcats (2-1) past the visiting Knights (1-2).

Addison LaBonte chipped in 11 points for York, which outscored Poland 34-14 in the second half.

CAPE ELIZABETH 26, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 21: The Capers (1-2) opened the game with a 10-0 run and survived a comeback by the Raiders (0-3) at Fryeburg.

Fryeburg rallied to tie the game in the third quarter but never gained the lead.

Fryeburg’s Skye Dole was the game’s high scorer with eight points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 29, NYA 26: Cassandra Miner scored nine of her 11 points on 3-pointers as the Hawks (1-2) edged the Panthers (1-2) at South Hiram.

Dakota Miner added eight points, all in the second half.

Morgan Scully paced NYA with 12 points and Charlotte Esancy had nine.

TRAIP ACADEMY 35, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 30: Kendra Kagiliery’s 3-pointer in the final minute helped the Rangers (3-0) secure a victory at Old Orchard Beach (0-2).

Selena Lorrey led Traip with 10 points. Haley Plante had eight points for the Seagulls.

FOREST HILLS 40, PINE TREE ACADEMY 37: Kori Coro had 14 points as the Tigers (2-1) won in Jackman.

Dana McNally added 10 points for Forest Hills. Gentille Sandy had 12 points and Hannah Koester 11 for Pine Tree (1-2).

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 50, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 42: Chrissy Briggs scored 22 points and the Falcons (3-0) went on a late run to beat the Mustangs (2-1) at Monmouth.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 57, WINTHROP 16: Kathryn Ventrella had 13 points and five assists as the Phoenix (3-0) cruised to a win over the visiting Ramblers (0-3).

HALL-DALE 59, MT. ABRAM 25: Carylanne Wolfington had 20 points and nine steals, and the Bulldogs (3-0) opened with an 11-0 run on the way to a win at Farmingdale.

HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 3, YORK 1: Kristina Block scored twice in the third period to lift the Red Storm (5-2-1) over the Wildcats (3-1-2) at Rochester, N.H.

Julia Hird gave York a 1-0 lead in the first period. Hannah Snyder pulled Scarborough even in the second.

Alyssa Hulst had two assists for the Red Storm.

BRUNSWICK 9, CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 1: Annie Kelly and Rachel Moroney each had two goals and an assist to lead the Dragons (5-1-1) past visiting Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (2-3).

Eliza Brooks added a goal and three assists, and Suzannah Smith had a goal and two assists.
