GRAY – Kate Miklavic converted a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:08 left and added a pair of free throws as Cape Elizabeth pulled out a 39-36 win over Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball game Saturday.

Miklavic finished with 16 points and Kayla Raftice scored 10 for Cape Elizabeth (2-2).

Leandra Grant had 10 points for Gray-New Gloucester (2-1).

FALMOUTH 50, POLAND 44: Anna Hickey and Laney Evers each scored nine points for the Yachtsmen (3-1), who held off a fourth-quarter comeback bid by the Knights (0-4) at Poland.

Michaella Arsenault scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter as Poland nearly erased a 17-point deficit. Emily Bolduc finished with 11 points for the Knights.

LAKE REGION 49, FREEPORT 25: Tiana-Jo Carter had 15 points, 23 rebounds and three blocked shots, and Kelsey Winslow grabbed 15 rebounds as the Lakers (4-0) dominated inside against the Falcons (2-1) at Naples.

Lake Region closed out the win with a 15-1 run, including six points from Carter.

Sydney Hancock contributed 10 points for Lake Region. Nina Davenport had 12 points for Freeport.

WAYNFLETE 56, SACOPEE VALLEY 28: Martha Veroneau scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Flyers (2-2) in a win over the Hawks (1-3) at Portland.

Veroneau had 13 points in the first quarter, helping Waynflete build a 15-5 lead.

The Flyers put the game out of reach with 22 points in the third quarter. Catherine Veroneau scored 10 of her 15 points in the third.

YORK 40, YARMOUTH 35: Emily Campbell scored 13 points as the Wildcats (3-1) beat the Clippers (1-3) at Yarmouth.

Morgan Cahill had 21 points for Yarmouth.

TRAIP ACADEMY 47, NYA 34: Selena Lorrey scored 10 of her 20 points in the first quarter to help the Rangers (4-0) take control against the Panthers (1-3) at Kittery.

Morgan Scully led NYA with 13 points.

WELLS 54, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 36: Abby Moody scored all eight of her points, including a pair of 3-pointers, during a 21-8 run in the third quarter as the Warriors (3-1) pulled away from the Seagulls (0-3) at Wells.

Allison Furness led Wells with 14 points.

CHEVERUS 56, PORTLAND 40: The Stags (3-0) outscored the host Bulldogs 34-17 in the second half and made 11 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter to secure their third straight victory.

Brooke Flaherty led Cheverus with 17 points and Alexandra Palazzi-Leahy scored 14.

Nyaliep Deng paced the Bulldogs (0-3) with 16 points.

HOCKEY

YORK 1, LEWISTON 0: Kendall Carr scored three minutes into the third period to give the Wildcats (5-2) a win over the Blue Devils (2-6) at Rochester, N.H.

Nicci Heroux assisted on the goal, and Olivia Drew made 11 saves for the shutout.

FALMOUTH 9, CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 1: Megan Fortier finished with three goals and an assist, and Maddy McDonnell added two goals to lead the Yachtsmen (6-0) past the Capers (2-4) at Portland Ice Arena.

Monica Aaskov had a goal and two assists, and Gabriella St. Angelo contributed a goal and an assist.

Madeline Ciroldo scored for Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete on an assist from Roz Gray-Bauer.

BIDDEFORD 5, ST. DOM’S 4: Jenna Roy finished with four goals and an assist, and Tiffany Gagne added a goal and an assist as the Tigers (2-4) edged the Saints (1-5) at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Kayla McLellan recorded a hat trick and set up a goal by Jenna Fongemie for St. Dom’s.

PORTLAND/DEERING 11, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 5: Kylie Dalbec had four goals and two assists to lead Portland/Deering (4-1) over visiting Gorham/Bonny Eagle.

Raechel Allen added three goals and five assists, and Lindsey Sneider finished with two goals and four assists.

Charalette Smith and Rachel Litif each had a goal and an assist for Gorham/Bonny Eagle (0-7).
