BOWDOINHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT Capt. Tobey Frizzle, left, and firefighter Richard Ellis on Dec. 26 received meritorious service awards for “going above and beyond the call of duty while disregarding personal safety” to rescue a woman from a second-story balcony during a Dec. 9 fire at her Wildes Road home. The award also honors the two firefighters’ efforts to “prevent extensive damage to the home.”
