TOPSHAM — Messalonskee turned a one-point halftime lead into a 10-point advantage after three quarters in a 57-37 win over Mt. Ararat in a high school jayvee boys basketball game on Thursday.

Tied 11-11 after a quarter, Messalonskee (5-3) took a 22- 21 lead to the half. The visitors extended the advantage to 39-29 through 24 minutes.

Devon Monteiro had eight points and Jake Demosthenes seven for Mt. Ararat ( 3- 5), which was three of 10 from the charity stripe. Zack Greene had seven rebounds and Zack Curtis six. Jordan Castonguay played well, scoring five points and pulling down five caroms.

Jordan Caron had a gamehigh 17 points for Messalonskee, while Jordan Holmes added 12 points.
