LISBON FALLS — Alexa Harmon’s fourth 3- pointer tied the game, and Bailey Madore hit two key free throws late in the fourth quarter as the Lisbon High School girls basketball team surprised Hall-Dale 48-47 in Mountain Valley Conference action on Friday.

“ We never backed down, even when we were behind by six points in the third quarter,” said Lisbon coach Julie Wescott, whose team improved to 5- 6 and visits Mountain Valley on Wednesday. “We were able to get some boards and hit some big shots. We needed this.”

Harmon led all scorers with 18 points, while Jess Campbell chipped in 13 points and Madore 12 for the Greyhounds, who were 12 of 17 at the charity stripe. Denise Thomas had seven rebounds.

Hall- Dale ( 10- 3), which entered the game as the No. 2 team in Western Maine Class C, led 25-22 at the half and 36- 35 after three quarters.

Carylanne Wolfington led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while teammates Kristina Buck and Katie Eccleston each had eight points. Hall- Dale was five of 11 at the foul line.

The host Wolverines outscored Winthrop 13-4 in the decisive third quarter in picking up their second MVC win (2-10) over the Ramblers in nine days.

Tied 4-4 after a quarter, Wiscasset went up 17-8 at the half and held a 27- 21 advantage heading to the final frame.

Kayla Connors had a double double for the victors with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Briana Goud added nine points and Kasey Cromwell eight, include her team’s only 3-pointer.

Catherine Ouellette led the 0-10 Ramblers with 13 points, Jessica Scott picked up 10, and Randi Dennett and Liz Glover each had four points.

Wiscasset is slated to host Dirigo on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
