FARMINGTON — Four middle school students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the bus they were on this afternoon collided with a tractor trailer, according to Farmington Police officer William Tanner.

He said there were 14 students from Farmington’s Mt. Blue Middle School when it was hit at the intersection of High Street and Farmington Falls Road, which is also known as U.S. Route 2.

Rescue workers are on the scene of a collision between a school bus carrying students and a tractor trailer on Route 2 in Farmington.

Tanner said the tractor trailer swerved to avoid another vehicle and the front end of the bus was moderately damaged. The bus driver refused treatment, according to Tanner.

Jill Gray, a spokeswoman at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington said the four children had non-life threatening injuries.
