MAINE HORSE-POWER enthusiast Nick Buck will give a presentation about his 2011 sojourn along the Oregon Trail at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, 117 Museum Road, off Route 73. Buck will give a multimedia presentation about the trip he took with his brother, Rinker. The brothers traveled from St. Joseph, Mo., to Pendleton, Ore. Oregon Trail re-enactments are far from unusual, but what set the Bucks apart is the fact that they drove their team the entire distance, eschewing even the convenience and security of a chase vehicle for much of the journey,” a release from the museum states. The Bucks reached their goal after nearly 3.5 months on the trail. Nick Buck will tell their tale, accompanied by his collection of photos taken on the trail. Admission is free.
