BRUNSWICK — Maine Authors Publishing of Rockland plans to sponsor a February Blues Book Bash on Saturday at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St.

Independent authors will read, sign and sell their works, and offer information about writing and self-publishing, according to a release from the publishing company.

“Fiction, memoir, poetry, children’s stories, and good old Maine tales will be represented at the Book Bash,” the release states. “There is even a book of messages written on vintage postcards.”

Authors scheduled to appear are Paula Benoit (“ Baxter in the Blaine House”), Benjamin Brill (“ Words Across a Wire”), Carol Glover (“Loving Hannah: Childhood Cancer Treatment from the Other Side of the Bed”), Patricia Goodspeed (“Pieces of the Dream”), Deborah Gould (“Father is Here … He’s as Fat as a Pig”), George Grimes (“Under the Keel: Memoirs of a Seagoing Life”), Elizabeth Harmon (“ Chimney Pond Tales”), Katherine Mayfield (“ The Box of Daughter”), Jack O’Mara (“Whitewater Opera: Death Comes to the Allagash”), Steven Powell (“Patch Scratching”), Travis Smith (“ The Garbage Men”) and Howard Waxman (“Venceremos”).

Coffee and baked goods will be available, along with tables for sitting, talking and listening to readings. The public is invited to come listen, chat with the authors, snack, browse and buy books (cash and checks preferred).

The authors are donating copies of their books and contributing 10 percent of their sales to Annual Book Fund at the library.

The February Blues Book Bash is scheduled to run from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Morrell Meeting Room.
