LEWISTON — The seventh annual FAB Dance Showcase is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. today at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.

The FAB Dance Showcase is an annual event presented by Bates College and the Franco Center, sponsored by the Harward Center at Bates.

“The event aims to be a meeting point and showcase for dancers and choreographers from all over the state of Maine and the region as a whole,” according to a release from the Franco- American Heritage Center. “Representative artists are selected from local independent dance schools and companies, as well as the dance programs of notable colleges and universities.”

The performers for this year’s FAB Dance Showcase are scheduled to be Annie Kloppenberg and Todd Coulter, faculty at Colby College; Sasha Campbell of Art Moves in Norway; Emma Arenstam and Sasha Randall of Sonar in Portland; Kate Speer of Lewiston and Colorado; Jennifer Bourgault of Collective Motion in Portland; Susan Thompson Brown of indiedancework in Portland; Patrisha Harms and Christine Simes of 2ROMA in Dover, N.H.; Androscoggin Dance, led by Elizabeth Hansen; Ashley Booker, a Bates College student; Shawn Hove of the Connecticut College staff; Carol Dilley and Rachel Boggia,

Bates College faculty; and Vicki Perreault of Portland.

Androscoggin Dance will perform two new works. The pieces were created for nine young local dancers who participate in the company’s intensive program.
