“SONG OF THE FOREST,” by Maureen Block is one of the works featured in “Playing Around: Art of the Imagination,” an exhibition that opens today at River Arts at 170 Main St., Damariscotta. “Participating artists submitted works with a flair for the innovative, adventurous and distinctive,” a River Arts release states. “There are 96 works on exhibit, by 46 artists from Belfast to Portland. The exhibition contains several 3-D sculptures in a variety of media and assemblages. An opening reception runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. The exhibit runs through March 29.
