Scott D’Amboise, a Republican candidate for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Olympia Snowe, said today that he has filed enough signatures to get his name on the June Republican primary ballot.

Violet Willis, the press secretary for D’Amboise’s campaign, said the candidate submitted over 2,100 signatures to the Secretary of State’s Office on Monday afternoon. D’Amboise needs at least 2,000 signatures of registered voters to get on the ballot.

March 15 is the deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers.

In a statement issued Monday, D’Amboise says he is the only candidate not “hand picked” by the GOP establishment.
