WESTBROOK – And then there were nine.

This year’s “Westbrook Idol” competition winner will be crowned on Thursday, March 15, according to Kathryn Hersom, principal at Saccarappa School and one of the coordinators of the event.

The finalists, according to Hersom, are Dave Ames, Kiersten Hilton, Ingrid Ayer-Richardson, Margo Carroll, Sierra Alley, Raquel True, Jake Limanni, and Tasha Rinaldi. Of these, Ayer-Richardson and Carroll were both finalists in last year’s contest, too, Hersom said.

Along with this year’s contestants, Thursday’s show will also feature a performance from Gabriella Latini, last year’s “Westbrook Idol” winner.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at the door or at Canal and Saccarappa School ahead of time, and cost $9 for adults, and $5 for senior citizens and children.

At the show, there will also be raffles for various prizes, including a $200 car-detailing gift certificate, meals at local area restaurants and classes.

Proceeds from the event will be used to buy diagnostic reading assessment kits for grades 3-8. Organizers hope to raise $10,000, Hersom said.
