DAYTON — A York County man, who allegedly assaulted three women during an argument at a home in Dayton late Tuesday night, is being held at the York County Jail tonight on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Major William L. King Jr. said 21-year-old Matthew Mills of Arundel will likely face assault charges as well.

Mills was arguing with his girlfriend when a third person, a woman, intervened, King said. Mills allegedly pointed a .22 caliber handgun at the woman. Police do not know if the handgun was loaded.

When Mills’ girlfriend tried to wrestle the gun from him, he assaulted her and the woman. The woman fled to seek help from a neighbor.

Mills then assaulted the neighbor, another woman, in the yard outside the home, King said. None of the victims needed to be hospitalized following the assaults.

Mills was being held Wednesday night at the York County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
