TOPSHAM —The Board of Selectmen voted to create a Route 196 Corridor Study Committee.

This committee’s mission is to draft a corridor plan as recommended in the 2005 comprehensive plan, according to a press release issued by the town’s planning office. The plan will examine existing land uses, transportation, visual impacts and access issues along the Route 196 corridor, and will make recommendations for improvements to these areas based on community input and desires.

Town staff hope the committee will begin work this month.

Those interested in serving on the committee can contact the Topsham Planning Office at 725- 1724 or planningoffice@topshammaine.com for application forms, or find the forms on the Topsham website, www.topshammaine.com, by selecting the Boards and Committee tab.
