WINSLOW (AP) — Police are investigating the theft of prescription medications from a Winslow pharmacy.

Police say a man entered the Rite Aid on China Road just after noon on Sunday, handed the pharmacist a note and said he had a gun.

No weapon was shown and no one was hurt.

Police tell the Kennebec Journal the pharmacist gave the thief some oxycodone and methadone, but the suspect demanded more, which was given to him.

The robber was described as having a medium build and between 5-feet-6 inches and 5- feet-8 tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, tan or khaki pants and heavy gloves.

Witnesses say the man ran from the store.
