OLD ORCHARD BEACH (AP) — The sister of a man found dead in Old Orchard Beach over the weekend says police told her that her brother was stabbed to death.

An autopsy on the body of 49-year-old Roger White was performed by the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta. He was found Saturday morning behind a bar called The Whaler where he had been seen Friday evening. His death was called “highly suspicious.”

White’s sister, Cheryl Boucher, tells The Portland Press Herald her brother was a well-liked, lifelong resident of town.

She says he made a living doing odd jobs for contractors. He was one of five children and had two grown daughters of his own.

One of his friends at The Whaler says White was a gentle soul who had no enemies.
