BOWDOINHAM — The Comprehensive Planning Committee asks Bowdoinham residents to share their perspectives at a meeting that will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Town Hall.

Snacks and child care will be provided.

In particular, the committee seeks public input on transportation, housing, public facilities, capital investment and recreation.

Comprehensive Planning Committee members plan to use the information to create a comprehensive plan that represents what the town wants, according to an announcement about the input session. The comprehensive plan is a 10-year plan that lays out the work the town should undertake to meet its goals. The comprehensive plan serves as the basis for the town’s land use ordinances.

After receiving considerable public input, the committee has already finalized a vision statement for the town. More recently, it drafted goals for each of the above-listed topics. For each topic, it seeks input on how Bowdoinham should accomplish these goals. The committee has hired Craig Freshley of Good Group Decisions in Brunswick to facilitate these public input meetings.

Following introductions at the start of the meeting, Freshley will present the vision statement and then committee members will share highlights of each of the five topics listed above.

The committee held a similar session April 18 to solicit input on forests, natural resources, water resources, historic and archeological resources and recreation.
