ARUNDEL (AP) — A 23- year-old Maine man is facing charges he assaulted his 2 1/2- month-old son.

The Maine State Police say detectives were called to the Arundel home of Gordon Collins-Faunce on Sunday.

The baby boy was hospitalized Saturday after he was found unresponsive at his home by other family members. The baby is hospitalized at the Maine Medical Center in Portland with severe head injuries. Police report his condition as “grave.”

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services removed two other children from the house on Saturday, including the injured boy’s twin brother.
