SCARBOROUGH — The condition of a Saco woman who was critically injured in a two-car crash at Holmes and Beech Ridge roads Tuesday night has been upgraded to fair.
John Lamb, a spokesman for Maine Medical Center, said 51-year-old Julia Jacobson-Maloney was in fair condition this afternoon.
Scarborough police were forced to shut down Holmes Road for more than four hours after a Honda Accord driven by Jacobson-Maloney of Saco collided with a Chevrolet Suburban operated by 32-year-old Erron Pennell of Limington.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland, but police said Jacobson-Maloney’s injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
Pennell was treated and released from the hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
