YORK — Police say a woman waited in line at a York, Maine, bank and then robbed it while about a dozen people were in the building.

Police say the woman handed a note to the teller at the Kennebunk Savings Bank on Tuesday afternoon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police would not say what the note said or whether the woman was armed. Detective Sgt. Thomas Cryan tells the Portsmouth Herald that there was no threat of violence.

The woman is described as being in her mid-20s, about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. Police say she has long brown hair and was wearing glasses, a tan baseball cap, a blue long-sleeved top and matching dark blue pants.
