SCARBOROUGH — Classic rockers ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd were announced today as the performers for the third concert in the new Music at the Track concert series at Scarborough Downs.
The show will take place at the track on Friday, Sept. 7. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $55.75 to $95.75 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. June 15, and will be available at Waterfrontconcerts.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

The two concerts previously announced for this new outdoor concert series were a little harder-edged and more contemporary. Rapper Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to headline a group of six acts on July 31, while Five Finger Death Punch will headline at a hard rock festival called Oxxfest on Aug. 10.
When the Scarborough Town Council approved the series earlier this year, the approval called for a limit of five shows this year. The series is being put on by Waterfront Concerts, which runs the Bangor Waterfront Pavilion concert series in Bangor.
