SCARBOROUGH — Political newcomer James Boyle trounced incumbent Rep. Timothy Driscoll, D-Westbrook, for the Democratic Party nomination for Maine Senate District 6.
The final unofficial result after Tuesday’s primary election had Boyle winning 1,106 to 700. Senate District 6 includes Gorham and parts of Scarborough and Westbrook.
Boyle, who runs an environmental and land use consulting company, will face Scarborough Republican Ruth Summers, wife of Secretary of State Charles Summers, in November’s election.
