SCARBOROUGH — Broadturn Farm is plowing deeper into the education field with creation of the Long Barn Educational Initiative, a nonprofit formed to continue the farm’s summer day camp program and expand offerings to adults, children and families.

Children’s programs include story hour for preschoolers, summer camp and after-school programs for the fall. Adults courses will include food preservation workshops with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, cob oven building, turkey processing and more.

Broadturn Farm is a certified organic farm that operates a Community Supported Agriculture program serving greater Portland. The property at 388 Broadturn Road is owned and protected by the Scarborough Land Trust and leased by farmers Stacy Brenner and John Bliss.
