Topsham’s annual fishing rally will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, sponsored by the Topsham Public Library in conjunction with the Topsham Parks and Recreation Department and the Topsham Solid Waste Facility.

The event will be held rain or shine at “the ponds” behind the Solid Waste Facility on Townsend Way off Foreside Road.

“All ages are welcome to try their luck and maybe win a prize,” a release about the rally. “If you don’t have a fishing rod, the library will have fishing poles available for use.”

For Saturday’s event only, the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will waive licensing requirements for all adults who participate in this program.

Coffee and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Topsham Public Library. Prizes will be awarded for largest fish, first fish, youngest child to catch a fish and oldest person to catch a fish. A raffle will take place.

The program is free and open to the public.
