BRUNSWICK

Brunswick Publishing LLC, owner of The Times Record, announced today that it has agreed to sell its building and Alliance Press printing division at 3 Business Parkway to a new company led by current Brunswick Publishing president Chris Miles and RFB Co-Op of Rockland, currently one of Alliance Press’ largest clients.

Brunswick Publishing LLC will continue to own and publish The Times Record.

“This reorganization will allow us to focus on what we do best, produce good hometown newspapers,” Brunswick Publishing owner George Sample said. “The Times Record is a good newspaper and, as our sole focus, it will get even better.”

The newspaper and its staff will stay in the building, and Alliance Press will print the newspaper.

“Our advertisers, readers and subscribers won’t notice a bit of difference,” Sample said. “This is more of a financial restructuring in which all entities — the newspaper, the printing company and the real estate division will all gain. It’s definitely a winwin.”

In a release announcing the transaction, Sample confirmed that all of Brunswick Publishing’s current employees will be retained by the new companies. In addition, past due property taxes owed to the town of Brunswick will be paid in full as part of the restructuring.

The transaction comes two months after Brunswick Publishing LLC and Waltz Longterm Care Pharmacy announced that Waltz would relocate its Topsham-based operation to leased space at 3 Business Parkway. Renovations to accommodate that move are ongoing. Plans call for Waltz to move into its new space in August.
