“Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail” by Cheryl Strayed (Knopf, $25.95). Memoir of a woman’s 2,663-mile hike over three states and nine mountain ranges. This is Oprah’s first book-club selection in two years.

“The Red House” by Mark Haddon (Doubleday, $25.95). Two long-estranged siblings and their disjointed families share a rented vacation home.

“Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn (Crown, $25). A missing wife, a mountain of evidence pointing toward the husband and a twisted plot that defies expectations.
