Portland Ovations begins its season this week with “Voyeur by Bridgman | Packer Dance. It continues into spring with a series of concerts, musicals, family events and dance performances featuring performers from the United States, across North and South America, and across the globe.

Although the concert is not part of the regular season, Portland Ovations also hosts the farewell tour by country music icon Glen Campbell.

The season celebrates the centennial anniversaries of Igor Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring” and the opening of Merrill Auditorium.

The season-long Stravinsky celebration will be anchored by the Joffrey Ballet on March 21, and will include other interpretations of “Rite of Spring.” Award-winning classical pianists Soyeon Lee and Ran Dank will play the four-hand arrangement; jazz trio The Bad Plus presents a multi-media piece that takes the original composition to its farthest reaches; and the Grammy Award-nominated wind quintet Imani Winds will perform an unusual arrangement for wind instruments.

The following is an overview of the season. For details, visit portlandovations.org. For tickets, call 842-0800 or visit porttix.com.
