BATH

Santa Claus will arrive in downtown Bath on Saturday, Nov. 24 for a children’s tree lighting in the gazebo at Library Park, followed by a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in City Hall Auditorium.

An ornament-making workshop will be set up in the community room of the Patten Free Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. so children and their families can make their own ornaments to place on the children’s tree while waiting for Santa’s arrival.

Santa will be escorted to the Gazebo in the Box 19 Club’s classic 1941 fire truck, and is scheduled to arrive at 3 to light the Christmas tree.

After the tree lighting, children and their families are invited to join Santa for a Jingle Bell walk up Front Street to City Hall for homemade cookies, punch and a cozy visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Downtown Bath has been preparing for Santa’s visit, and the city will be festive with wreaths and colored lights for his arrival and the start of the holiday season.

Many downtown businesses will welcome shoppers with open houses and sales on Saturday, which is being celebrated nationally as “small-business Saturday.” Shoppers are encouraged to shop locally and support the small independent businesses of their communities.
