PORTLAND — The Portland Regional Chamber’s top executive will step down from his post at the end of the year.
Chamber Chief Executive Officer Godfrey Wood, of Falmouth, will retire on Dec. 31 after 15 years in the post, the chamber said Thursday in a press release.
“I believe change is good for any organization, and it will be good for me as well,” Wood said in a written statement. “The time is right for me, and for my family, for me to step down.”
Board Chairman James Cohen said the chamber would immediately begin the search for a leader for the organization.
