I recently read of the passing of Rodney Quinn and his wife and was saddened by the news.

I did not have the privilege of knowing Mr. Quinn personally but I had a great deal of respect and admiration for him and thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to “Quinn’s Corner” each week. It was evident from reading his column that he was a man of unusual intergrity and intelligence. I considered his view of the world to be “spot on,” plus his column was highly entertaining due to his dry sense of humor, imagination and courage to say what needed to be said without mincing words. Talk about a “breath of fresh air!”

His instructions (as reported in the Nov. 1 story) to Mr. Danton to “not embarrass himself or him” says so much about his character and the caliber of the person we have lost. It is especially sad when one considers that it is a concern no longer held by many our public officials who regularly appear to have no qualms about embarrassing their loved ones, their colleagues and themselves.

Thank you for the comprehensive article paying tribute to him; it was most informative and deserved.
