Shoppers in the Wiscasset area filled up holiday “passports” with stamps documenting purchases from local businesses.

The Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce’s holiday buy-local campaign, “Think Outside the Box” included extended shopping hours, business showcases and the passport promotion. More than 40 businesses took part.

In the passport campaign, every $20 a shopper spent at a participating business earned a stamp on the shopper’s Chamber-issued “passport” that could be converted into raffle entries.

The Dec. 20 raffle drawing drew 60 people, with nearly 300 passports submitted, the Chamber said.
