KEENE, N.H. – Nicole Garland made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 21 points as the Huskies broke open a one-point game with a 19-3 run midway through the second half in a 76-57 Little East win over the Keene State Owls (5-7, 0-3).

Rebecca Knight added 17 points for the Huskies (13-0, 3-0) and Jordan Grant had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

UMBC 54, MAINE 50: Bria White scored 15 points off the bench for the Retrievers (5-10, 1-1 America East), who survived a second-half rally by the Black Bears (1-13, 0-1) at Baltimore.

UMBC went up 22-11 at the half, but Courtney Anderson led Maine on a 15-3 run, scoring eight of her team-high 17 points during the four-minute stretch that tied the game at 30 with 12:15 to play.

WILLIAMS 71, BATES 36: The Ephs (10-2, 1-1) cruised to a win over the Bobcats (5-7, 0-2) in a NESCAC game at Lewiston.

Allie Beaulieu paced the Bobcats with 10 points and eight rebounds.

ST. JOSEPH’S 71, NORWICH 48: Lindsay Moore’s 14 points led St. Joseph’s (7-5, 1-0 GNAC) to a 40-24 halftime lead over the Cadets (5-7, 0-1) in Northfield, Vt.

Moore totaled 18 points for the Monks and added 11 rebounds. Mackenzie Dufour and Danyelle Shufelt each had 10 points.

UNE 74, ROGER WILLIAMS 53: Kelly Coleman scored 17 of her career-high 23 points in the second half as the Nor’easters (6-4, 3-0) closed out the game with a 25-4 run to pull away from the Hawks (5-6, 1-3) at Biddeford.

Coleman also finished with 11 rebounds and five steals for the Nor’easters and Sadie DiPeirro chipped in with 13 points off the bench.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

MAINE 81, UMBC 66: Justin Edwards and Alasdair Fraser scored 17 points apiece and all five Maine starters hit double figures to lead the Black Bears past Maryland-Baltimore County at Orono.

Jon Mesghna added 16 points, shooting 5 of 5 from the field, while Xavier Pollard and Mike Allison posted 10 points apiece. Allison pulled down 10 boards for the Black Bears (7-8, 2-0).

ST. JOSEPH’S 75, NORWICH 64: Nicholas Jobin and Matthew Medeiros scored 21 points apiece to pace the Monks (7-3, 3-1) as they downed the Cadets (3-7, 0-3) in a GNAC game at Northfield, Vt.

Steve Simonds added 17 points for the Monks.

SOUTHERN MAINE 90, KEENE STATE 83: Sean Bergeron made 5-of-8 from behind the 3-point line and finished with a game-high 21 points and Conor Sullivan added 19 to lead the Huskies (8-5, 3-0) to a Little East win over the Owls (7-5, 2-1) at Keene, N.H.

Alex Kee chipped in with 17 points for the Huskies.

WILLIAMS 80, BATES 69: Taylor Epley led all scorers with 30 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Ephs (12-1, 2-0) to a NESCAC win over the Bobcats (5-9, 0-2) at Lewiston.

Mike Boornazian led Bates with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

ROGER WILLIAMS 63, UNE 45: Charles Fenner III led the Nor’easters with 11 points and four steals, but the Hawks (5-6, 2-2) held the Nor’easters (1-9, 0-3) scoreless for over six minutes at the start of the second half at Biddeford.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 6, HAMILTON 2: Harry Matheson had a goal and two assists for the Polar Bears (11-0-1, 7-0-1 NESCAC), who used four third-period goals to put away the Continentals (3-6-2, 2-5-1) at Clinton, N.Y.

AMHERST 3, COLBY 0: The Jeffs (8-4-1, 5-3 NESCAC) held the Mules (3-9, 1-7) to four shots on goal at Amherst, Mass.

Sam Parker made 28 saves for Colby.

SALEM ST. 5, USM 3: The Vikings (6-4-1) used three third-period goals to get by the Huskies (5-7) at Salem, Mass.

Alex Pompeo had two assists for Southern Maine.

UNE 5, SUFFOLK 4: Jared Melman scored twice and the Nor’easters (3-8) used four unanswered third-period goals to overcome a 3-1 deficit against the Rams (4-6-2) at Boston.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 4, BROWN 2: Brianne Kilgour and Shawna Lesperance scored second-period goals and Brittany Ott made 36 saves to help the Black Bears (3-14-1) hold off the Bears (2-9-1) at Providence.

Kelly McDonald and Katy Massey added goals for Maine.

BOWDOIN 3, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: Kayla Lessard made 23 saves to record her second consecutive shutout for the Polar Bears (8-1-1, 4-0) in a NESCAC win over the Camels (4-5-1, 1-4-1) at Brunswick.

Kayte Holtz, Colleen Finnerty and Chelsea MacNeil scored for Bowdoin, while Kim Tess-Wanat added two assists.

AMHERST 2, COLBY 1: Megan Doyen opened the scoring 2:56 into the third period and assisted on the game-winner as the Lord Jeffs (7-4, 5-1) edged the Mules (4-7, 0-6) in a NESCAC game at Waterville.
