Loughran retiring

Town Clerk Connie Loughran said in a letter Jan. 14 to Town Council Chairman Phil Gagnon that she would be retiring on Friday, Sept. 6.

“Working in the town clerk’s office these past 27 years has been a very rewarding experience,” Loughran wrote. “I can truly say that I always looked forward to coming to work.”

Loughran served the past two years as the town clerk and she thanked the council for the privilege. She had previously served as deputy clerk and an acting town clerk.

“The clerk’s staff is a terrific team and I have enjoyed working with this wonderful group of women,” Loughran wrote.

Loughran succeeded Christina Silberman, who resigned as Gorham’s town clerk April 1, 2011, after six years. Silberman cited personal reasons.
