Locals named to all-state track team
Several Cheverus and Deering indoor track standouts were named to the Maine Track and Cross Country Coaches’ Association all-state team. Cheverus’ Brady Foshay and Deering’s Jared Bell made the boys’ first-team. Cheverus’ James Campbell and Jackson McMann were boys’ honorable mentions. The girls’ first-team included Deering’s Edie Pallozzi. Cheverus’ Kiera Murray and Deering’s Alexis Elowitch were honorable mentions.
Portland Women’s Rugby Football Club opener Saturday
The Portland Women’s Rugby Football Club is playing its first spring home game Saturday at Middlesex (Mass.). Kickoff is 11 a.m. at the Fox Street field. FMI, elsbethpj@gmail.com.
