A Freeport man is behind bars, charged with stealing thousands of dollars in cash and equipment from businesses in Yarmouth, Freeport and Brunswick.

Willis Jordan III, 35, was arrested at 57 Litchfield Road on Wednesday and police executed a search warrant at the house. Willis is charged with burglarizing Romeos Pizza in Yarmouth on March 11, the McDonald’s restaurant in Freeport on March 23 and Mr. Mike’s convenience store in Brunswick on April 5.

Police recovered clothing, computer components and a bank deposit bag at the house, connecting Jordan to the burglaries, said Freeport Lt. Susan Nourse. They also recovered cash.

Detectives for the three towns worked together to identify similarities in the burglaries and eventually identified Jordan as a suspect. Police are investigating other burglaries to determine whether Jordan was responsible.

Jordan is charged with multiple counts of burglary and aggravated criminal mischief.
