The Freeport Rotary Club held its eighth annual Spring Gala April 6 at the Freeport Community Center to raise money for the group’s various charitable endeavors. According to Freeport Rotary President Michelle Bois-Gilbody, the event raised more than $5,000 with the night’s big winner being Freeport real estate agent Matt Cartmell, who was the high bidder for a dinner with U.S. Sen. Angus King at Buck’s Naked BBQ in Freeport. Above are Matt Cartmell, chairman of the Rotary Fundraising Committee, and Ben Lehay, master of ceremonies for the gala.
