WESTBROOK — âªA Westbrook police dog is being credited with saving a suicidal woman’s life.â¬
Capt. Michael F. Nugent said police received reports around 10 p.m. Saturday about a suicidal person who ran into woods off Andover Road.â¬
Nugent said police were told that the 25-year-old woman had tried to commit suicide earlier that night but ran from the people who were trying to help her.â¬
Officer Phil Robinson and his police canine, Roxie, were able to track the woman into the wooded area and interrupt a second suicide attempt.â¬
The woman was transported by ambulance to Maine Medical Center by Westbrook Rescue.â¬
Nugent said “her life was undoubtedly saved due to Roxie’s involvement and the officer’s quick actions.”â¬
