As chairman of the Falmouth School Board’s finance committee, I ask each Falmouth resident to learn about and validate the school budget on June 11. Our budget grows modestly over time with the rising costs for equipment, infrastructure, and salaries. We are hampered by a state government that decreases funding and shifts costs totaling $2 million dollars over past years and directly impacting our mil rate. The board asks the community for its continued support. We maintain a high-performing and highly efficient school district that reflects both the nature and philosophy of its community. And while our operating costs grow each year, just as they do for every family, we ensure that the students of tomorrow receive the same excellent education as the students of yesterday. We invite you to falmouthschools.org to learn about the development of our budget before you vote yes on June 11.
