SOUTH BERWICK – Aaron Ravin and Kevin Dryzga each drove in a run as Scarborough scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to earn a 3-0 win Monday over Marshwood in an SMAA baseball game.

Ben Greenberg pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks to earn the win for Scarborough (13-2), which jumped to the top of the Western Class A Heal point standings.

Alex McLean struck out 10 and allowed seven hits for second-ranked Marshwood (13-2).

 

WESTBROOK 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Zach Bean struck out five and allowed five hits over six 61/3 innings as the Blue Blazes (12-3) edged the Trojans (8-7) at Westbrook.

Westbrook took the lead in the top of the second when Keenan Lowe doubled and scored on a single by Eric Bouchard.

The Blue Blazes made it 2-0 in the fourth when Kyle Heath walked, stole second and scored on an error.

Thornton starter Jeff Gelinas gave up two earned runs and struck out five while throwing a five-hitter.

 

PORTLAND 5, DEERING 4: Joe Apon lined a single to right in the bottom of the seventh that drove home Mike Scala as the Bulldogs (7-7) edged the Rams (2-12) in Portland.

Portland tied the game in the bottom of the sixth when Nick Volger scored on Chris Webber’s single to right.

NOBLE 5, WINDHAM 4: Josh Schultz doubled home two runs and Brett Burke doubled home one as the Knights (4-11) scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to rally past the Eagles (12-3) at North Berwick.

Noble, trailing 4-0, scored twice in the fourth when Schultz singled home Jake Emard and Burke scored on a double play.

 

GORHAM 2, SANFORD 1: Chris Hardy tripled and scored on Damon Wallace’s single to left-center in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Rams (10-5) a victory over the Spartans (4-11) in Gorham.

Sanford took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Ryan Camire scored on an error. Gorham countered in the bottom half when Spencer LaPierre scored from second on a wild pitch.

MASSABESIC 14, BONNY EAGLE 0: Sean Adams threw a six-hitter and also had a pair of hits and drove in four runs as the Mustangs (4-11) cruised past the Scots (4-11) in six innings.

Brian Wardwell added three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs, and Elliott Desvergnes had two hits and three RBI.

Andy Martel had a pair of hits for Bonny Eagle.

 

YARMOUTH 6, FALMOUTH 3: Ian Grover had an RBI single during Yarmouth’s three-run first inning, and Caleb Uhl singled home Mark Brown and scored on a double play in the second inning as the Clippers (9-6) beat the Yachtsmen (12-2) in Yarmouth.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, FREEPORT 0: Ian MacFawn struck out nine and walked one while throwing a three-hitter for the Raiders (8-7) in a win over the Falcons (7-8) at Fryeburg.

Freeport loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh, but MacFawn struck out the final two batters.

Fryeburg opened a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. MacFawn doubled and scored on a triple by Tanner Wentworth, who later scored on a double steal.

SOFTBALL

FALMOUTH 5, YARMOUTH 3: Maddie Inlow and Julie Treadwell hit back-to-back homers in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Yachtsmen (9-6) past the Clippers (7-8) at Yarmouth.

The Clippers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when McKenzie Gray hit an RBI triple and scored on a double by Catherine Thompson.

BONNY EAGLE 8, BIDDEFORD 1: Allison Pike hit a pair of doubles and drove in three runs, and Kelsy Gaddy and Allison Pillar added two hits and two RBI apiece as the Scots (10-5-1) downed the Tigers (10-5) at Standish.

Erica Sullivan struck out six while tossing a five-hitter to earn the win.

The Scots took the lead with a four-run first inning that included a two-run double by Pillar.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 11, PORTLAND 1: Olivia Indorf struck out 13 while throwing a three-hitter as the Red Riots (13-2) downed the Bulldogs (2-13) at Portland.

Sam DiBiase hit a two-run triple and finished with four RBI.

 

GORHAM 4, PORTLAND 3: Gabby Martell singled in the bottom of the 10th and eventually scored on an error to lift the Rams (6-9) over the Bulldogs (2-14) at Gorham.

Martell and Sam Robinson finished with three hits apiece to pace a 13-hit attack.

Gianna Gaudet had a pair of hits for Portland.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, FREEPORT 1: Sarah Harriman was perfect through five innings and took a no-hitter into the seventh while striking out 13 for the Raiders (14-1) in a win over the Falcons (5-10) at Fryeburg.

Kristen Chipman led off the third inning with a single and later scored on an error. Fryeburg added two runs in the fifth on three walks, an error and a wild pitch.

Necole Harrison broke up the no-hit bid with a leadoff double in the seventh and scored on a single by Leigh Wyman.

 

BELFAST 2, MORSE 1: Ashley Littlefield pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks to lift the Lions (6-8) over the Shipbuilders (2-12) at Bath.

Jacelyn McNeill allowed eight hits and struck out three for Morse.
