GORHAM – Dylan Turner finished with three hits, an RBI and a run, and Moody’s Collision used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away from First Title for a 10-0 victory in five innings Thursday in a Zone 4 American Legion baseball game.

Damon Wallace, Tom Hazelton and Alex McCarthy each drove in a pair of runs, and Wallace and Spencer Lapierre had two hits apiece for Gorham (17-1).

Matt Leclair struck out two and walked one over four shutout innings to earn the win.

Drew Ferrick had a pair of hits for Cheverus (2-16).

MORRILL POST 4, BRISTOL SEAFOOD 2: Zac Marles pitched a four-hitter and drove home the decisive run for South Portland (8-10) against visiting Deering (6-11).

Marles’ sacrifice fly scored Robert Graff with South Portland’s third run. Adam Helmke added an RBI single after Deering scored two unearned runs in the fifth.

ANDREWS POST 7, OA-YARMOUTH 1: Tim Rovnak doubled home two runs as Portland (14-1-3) broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fifth inning against visiting Yarmouth (10-8).

Ryan Dixon held Yarmouth to one run on three hits over the first five inning. Nate Smart and Caleb Fraser each followed with an inning of hitless relief.

STAPLES CROSSING 3, FAYETTE-STAPLES 1: Robert Jones struck out four and walked two in a four-hitter to lift Marshwood over Thornton (9-7) at Saco.

Jones also hit a two-run double in the seventh inning that broke a 1-1 tie.

BIDDEFORD SAVINGS SWEEPS NOBLE: Kevin Descoteaux hit an RBI single during a three-run fifth inning and finished with three hits as Biddeford Savings (9-7) held on for a 7-6 victory against Noble (3-12) in the second game of a Zone 5 doubleheader at Biddeford.

Descoteaux also earned the win, giving up three runs over five innings. Corey Halliday of Noble had two hits and two RBI.

Biddeford won the opener 5-3. Corey Creeger drove in the eventual winning run with an single in the sixth and Taylor Reuillard added a solo homer in the seventh.

TRI-TOWN 9, BRUNSWICK 0: Brunswick (6-12) led 9-2 entering the bottom of the sixth at Mechanic Falls. Then a Brunswick player was ejected for arguing a play at the plate during a three-run rally by Poland (6-12), resulting in a forfeit victory for Poland when Brunswick had no substitutes remaining.

LIBBY-MITCHELL 6, CUMBERLAND 4: Tim Brigham, Joe Schnier and Seth Dobieski hit RBI singles during a four-run fourth inning and Scarborough (8-10) held off visiting Greely (11-7).

Damien Ramsdell gave up two runs and struck out four over four innings to earn the win.


CHASE CUSTOM HOMES 5, FIRST TITLE 0: Zach Mills pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts, a walk and two hit batters to lead Gorham past Cheverus (6-11) at Portland.

Mills and Billy Ruky each had two hits, including a double, and scored a run each.

WESTBROOK 9, STANDISH POST 128 2: The first of Bailey Sawyer’s two runs broke a 2-2 tie during a four-run fourth inning that gave Westbrook (10-6) a 4-2 lead against Bonny Eagle (7-9) at Standish.

Pat Weimer, Corey Walker and Josh Richards also scored twice each for Westbrook.

SACO & BIDDEFORD SAVINGS BANK 9, FAYETTE-STAPLES 2: Joey Curit singled home Nick Gallant, and Austin Dutremble doubled home Sam Collins and Curit to give Biddeford (9-7) a lead in the fourth inning at Biddeford.

Collins had a three-run double as Biddeford added six in the fifth.

SOUTH PORTLAND 9, POST 86 1: Griffin Henderson singled home Ben Conti and Nick Troiano singled home Sam Troiano to give South Portland (11-7) a 2-0 first-inning lead against Gray-New Gloucester (7-9) at Gray.

Drew Abramson gave up five hits over the first five innings for South Portland, striking out four and giving up one run. Henderson pitched two innings of hitless relief.


SANFORD 3, OCEAN STATE 2: Daniel Nevares tied it with a two-run homer in the third inning and Billy Beresznizwics scored the go-ahead run on an error in the fourth as the Mainers (13-18) held off the Waves (19-14) at Sanford.

Iannick Remillard earned the win with two shutout innings of relief.


NASHUA 7, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 5: Aaron Rosen drove in a pair of runs for the Silver Knights (21-12), who scored six unanswered runs to rally past the Raging Tide (16-18) at Nashua, N.H.
