Nate Boyle struck out seven and scattered five hits to lead the Windham Merchants to a 4-1 victory over Bethel Telstar Gould in a first-round American Legion Zone 3 playoff match at Bethel on Sunday.
Joey and Shawn Francouer each had RBI singles in the fifth inning for Windham.

ROX 7, RAGING TIDE 5: Brockton (19-16) scored five runs in the seventh inning on four hits and two errors to pull away to a 7-5 win over Old Orchard Beach (16-21) at Brockton, Mass.
Matt Pagano went 3 for 5 for the Tide, with a home run and three RBI.
TWILIGHT LEAGUE
LENDERS NETWORK 3, AERO HEATING 2: Todd Keneborous had two hits with an RBI and recorded the save for Lenders Network in a win against Aero Heating and Ventilating at Cumberland.
Phil Lavigne threw the first six innings for Lenders, allowing just one hit.
JUNIOR LEGION
CHASE CUSTOM HOMES 18, SCHWARTZ & SCHWARTZ 0: Cam Smith hit two triples during a 14-run third inning as Chase Custom Homes of Gorham (13-5) downed visiting Schwartz & Schwartz of Deering (3-15) in five innings.
Mike Chapin threw a one-hitter for Gorham.
JUNIOR LEAGUE
BRONCO LITTLE LEAGUE 5, FALMOUTH 2: Tyler Beaton tossed a complete game, allowing just two unearned runs on two hits to lead Bronco Little League of Hampden, Hermon, Newburgh and Winterport to a win over Falmouth in the Junior League championship game at Bangor.
Beaton scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning on Noah Gardner’s sacrifice fly.
Falmouth advanced to the championship game by downing Ellsworth 14-4 in the first game of the day. Falmouth scored eight runs on eight singles in a big second-inning outburst.
