
Betsy was born in the parsonage of the Elijah Kellogg Church on March 18, 1920, the daughter of Abbie Allen and Lawrence Kellogg Batchelder of Harpswell. She was the great-granddaughter of Elijah Kellogg.
She graduated from Brunswick High School in the class of 1939. She married Philip James Clough on June 10, 1944. They had 62 happy years together. Mr. Clough died on October 28, 2006.
Her interests were golf, bridge, sewing, crafts and church.
She and her husband edited two books on Covered Bridges in the 1960’s.
Surviving are niece Jane Collins, nephews Merle Pierce and David Hackett, all of Harpswell. Also surviving are several grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, July 30 at the Elijah Kellogg Church,
Harpswell Center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to First Parish Church, 9 Cleveland St., Brunswick 04011 or Elijah Kellogg Church, 917 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell 04079.
Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick.
