REDINGTON TWP. — Thomas S. Wright, 57, of Phillips, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Redington Twp.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1956, in Elmhurst, IL. He attended Illinois schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

After spending time in the south, Tom moved to Brunswick, ME, during the 1980’s and met Carla Labbe, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1989. They moved to Phillips in 2001, as Tom took a job as the Public Works Supervisor at the SERE Navy Survival School in Redington Twp.

Tom loved animals and was active in animal rescue. He also loved to boat, fish and pan for gold. One of his greatest pleasures in recent years was hosting exchange students from around the world, some of which would return and visit he and Carla during the summer months.

He is survived by his wife, Carla of Phillips; a son, Teagan Wright of Brooklyn, NY; six siblings. He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Funeral Home, Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
