OLD ORCHARD BEACH — James Alan Johnson, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from natural causes. He was born in Portland, Maine on July 30, 1974, the son of Carolyn (Herrin) Munsey Johnson and the late Albert Wiley Johnson.

He graduated from South Portland High School. He attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in business. He was an entrepreneur who successfully ran a motel for years in Old Orchard Beach.

During the last few summer seasons he enjoyed working with Creative Field Solutions, a New England-based company that maintains athletic fields. He had a passion for real estate and continued working with his brother Douglas Munsey and their business partners in real estate development.

Jim loved spending time with his fiancé Nicole and her two precious children. He loved sports and those who knew him best knew that his allegiance was to New England teams, specifically the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots, but he also loved the San Francisco 49ers.

Jim will be remembered for his contagious smile, quick wit and charm that followed him wherever he went. We will all miss that about him.

He leaves behind his fiancé Nicole Peters, her daughter Madison and her son Chase. His beloved mother Carolyn Johnson of Bath, his brother Daniel Munsey and his wife Sarah of West Virginia. A brother Douglas Munsey and his wife Melanie of Woolwich, Maine, a sister Diana Gregory of Portland, ME. A sister and brother Leanne and Albert Johnson. 10 nieces and nephews and 10 grand nieces and nephews. Aunt Jane and Uncle Bill Dolloff of Bath, ME and Uncle Gene and Aunt Ruth Herrin of New Bethlehem, PA. and three special life long treasured friends who are like brothers, Darren, Jason and Tedd.

A Christian service will be held at the Woolwich Wiscasset Baptist Church located on Route 1 in Woolwich on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and visiting will be held immediately after, at the church.
