WINDHAM – Wayne Mathews, right, a Windham code enforcement officer, examines the fallen roof trusses and damaged walls of a 100-by-80-foot indoor riding arena that collapsed at 81 Nash Road Wednesday around 9 a.m., sending three construction workers to the hospital for minor injuries. Windham Fire-Rescue Chief Charlie Hammond said the workers fell about 25 feet from the roof to the ground as the structure collapsed. Hammond said the trusses were only temporarily secured Tuesday night and were not nailed in place. He said the workers, who were not identified, “fell like dominoes.” The arena is under construction by Landmarc Construction Corp. based in Portland. The property is owned by Robin and Gordon Chibroski.
