On Thursday, Oct. 31, at about 9:30 a.m., Westbrook Police arrested three people at the Super 8 Motel in Westbrook on a variety of drug-related charges, including possession of MDMC, a synthetic drug similar to “Ecstasy” and “Molly.”

The arrest is significant, Capt. Tom Roth said, because MDMC is common in other parts of the country, but is relatively new in Maine. Assisting Westbrook police were agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Arrested were:

• Brittany Vezina, 23, of 29 Tingley Brook, Naples, on a charge of class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled W drugs and class E violation of conditions of release.

• Jerome Richards, 28, of Warren, on a charge of class C unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs.

• William Wheelock, 23, of 97 Highland Cliff Road Windham, on a charge of class E failure to provide correct name.

Roth said MDMC, heroin, marijuana, suboxone, oxycodone, adderall, clonazepam, lorazepam and bupremrophine pills was seized. A .45 caliber handgun and ammunition were located and seized, as well as $3,909, scales and packaging material.
