To the Editor:

I don’t think your article on Nov. 6 about the Regional School Unit 5 bond question ( “Narrow victory for RSU 5 bond,” Page A1) tells the whole story of Tuesday’s vote.

Yes, Freeport cast more votes than Durham and Pownal — 27 more votes “for” than in the June referendum, 127 more votes against.

Durham had 180 more votes “for,” no change against; Pownal had 100 more votes “for,” 77 fewer votes against.

Looking at the RSU 5 as a whole, this vote passed because Durham and Pownal increased their yes votes. Contrary to our original fears, the little towns’ votes do count.
