FALMOUTH — The Falmouth Memorial Library Board of Trustees has hired a fundraising team in its effort to expand and renovate the aging library facility.

President Mark Porada said Ovation Fundraising Counsel will soon be “meeting with different stakeholders in the community” to estimate how much money can be raised through private donations.

“It’s our hope, certainly, that we can raise the majority of the costs,” he said. “Beyond that, we don’t have any specific numbers yet.”

Ovation will report back to the board in February or March with its findings. From there, the group will develop details for the fundraising campaign, Porada said.

Ovation, a Maine-based firm, has worked with five other Maine libraries, including Augusta, Auburn, Bar Harbor, South Berwick, and Winthrop, Porada said.
