BRUNSWICK — Approximately 700 people attended an annual combined craft fair and bake sale organized by parent-teacher organizations of Brunswick’s two elementary schools Nov. 9.

Volunteers from Robert P.T. Coffin and Harriet Beecher Stowe elementary school, along with 18 Bowdoin College students, contributed an estimated 280 hours of service to make the event possible.

About $6,600 was raised during the event, which will be divided between the two schools on a 2-to-1 split, because of their relative student populations.

More than 80 artisans and vendors showcased products at the event, including handwoven scarves, jewelry, carved wood, wet-felted wool, handmade dolls, driftwood signs and handembroidered ornaments.

Bake sale tables featured nut-free and gluten-free options, and more than 75 donated items were raffled to attendees.

The craft fair raises money to sponsor field trips and other learning enrichment programs at the schools.
